Atticus Fails began in the basement of a local church in Willowick trying to get a band together for a Halloween event being held there. The event went down, candy was handed out and all was well…except for five musicians wanting to play more music. As we talked we discovered some of us wrote and thought it would be fun to see what we could do together afterward. Someone in the band had a contact with a recording studio (www.abydosrecords.com) and suggested we try to record a few tracks, which then turned into a full blown CD (Seriously it's coming! iTunes, Amazon, ReverbNation).
it's been almost two years now. Two years that have brought us through many failed recording attempts, three drummers, two bass players, a few gigs, and a bruised ego or two...which obviously, would do in a lesser band. Oh yea, about the band.
I quote, "Before long Atticus Fails began fusing diverse musical influences into an original and eclectic sound. From the jazzy and soulful styling of Christine Lewis, to Eric Moore’s 70’s rock influenced lead guitar, to the acoustic rock strumming of guitarist Andrew Johnson, all the way to the modern rock rhythms of bass player Jesse Moore and drummer D.J. Hug. However, the melding of various styles does not end with the sound of the music itself. Three members have contributed original songs to the bands repertoire, while each member has taken their turn behind the mic as lead vocalist."
Now doesn't that sound like a good time?
